Make relocation an exciting activity for the whole family. Involve kids by letting them pack their own belongings. Even with professional movers around, give the kids a chance to help. They will enjoy the process and you won't have to worry about their emotions - if they are having some trouble with moving to a new home.

PREPARE THE KIDS FOR THE MOVING DAY 

Moving to a new home can be stressful for kids, especially if they are leaving behind familiar surroundings and friends. It is important to talk to your kids about the move and prepare them for the changes that are coming, so make sure that this is on your TO-DO list.

You want to make sure there is no crying or wet clothes, and also no one wants to look for that one favorite toy among all those packed boxes. So make sure to have a change of clothes, toys, and snacks on hand for your kid during the move.

Remember, your new home is still a whole new place for your kids, especially if they are toddlers. They are curious, so they will want to explore the place, so make sure to safety-proof hazardous areas, such as stairs or balconies, with safety gates or locks.  Check for any loose wires or cords that could be a potential hazard, and make sure all the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are working.

GET THE KIDS EXCITED FOR THE MOVE

You want to do this by exploring a new neighborhood and researching local schools, parks, and activities that your kids might enjoy. Take them on a tour of the new neighborhood to get them excited about the move.
